A new era in Onewheel competition has arrived. Today marks the official launch of USA FLT, the national championship race series that will bring together the fastest riders in the country to compete for points, rankings, and the title of U.S. National Champion.
The 2026 championship will open at Lemonade Float Fest X Amped Electric Games, one of the most celebrated gatherings in the Onewheel community. The national sanctioning body will feature a diverse set of venues across the United States, including Wheel Life Rally and Amped Electric Games, with new events being added regularly. Race formats will include off-road segments and guided excursion events showcasing the unique capabilities of Onewheels and VESC boards across varied terrain.
The USA FLT championship system will award points across multiple race formats throughout the season, culminating in a national leaderboard that ranks athletes based on consistency, performance, and adaptability across terrain and race categories. Additional venues, race formats, and series details will be announced in the coming months.
"Onewheel riding has evolved rapidly from small community rides into a legitimate action sport with real competition, skilled athletes, and serious fan momentum," said Seth Johnson, Founder, USA FLT; Organizer, Amped Electric Games. "Launching USA FLT is the next step forward, creation of a unified structure where riders can test their limits, develop as athletes, and compete for a national title."
Joining the effort as founding members of the USA FLT Founding Council are Luke Austin, Kyle Klausing, Andrew Coleman, and Greg Ingram, respected voices in the Onewheel and float community who will help shape the direction of the series. Riders at all levels are encouraged to get involved and share their feedback as USA FLT builds a series that reflects the values and vision of the community it serves.
Onewheels and VESC-based float boards have surged in popularity across the country as riders embrace their combination of agility, portability, advanced engineering, and personal expression. USA FLT aims to serve both the athletes pushing the limits of performance and the rapidly growing fan base following the sport's progression online and in person.
The 2026 season will feature:
Official national points ranking
Multiple sanctioned races across the United States
Professional timing and rule standardization
Divisions for multiple skill levels to support athlete development
With the launch of USA FLT, Onewheel racing enters a new chapter, one defined by competitive structure, national visibility, and athlete progression. The national sanctioning body will unite riders, event organizers, industry partners, and brands under a shared mission to grow the sport responsibly and sustainably while giving competitors the platform they deserve.
The series is designed to support both professional and emerging athletes while offering brands, venues, and media partners a structured pathway to participate in one of the fastest-growing action sports communities.
